Unwrap is a free, open-source Mac app. It works entirely on your Mac and has no account, no server and no analytics.
What Unwrap reads
- New copies on your clipboard, to decide whether to fix them. Only copies from terminals, code editors' built-in terminals and the agent apps listed in Settings are changed. Copies marked as private or temporary by password managers are never read.
- Agent session files on your Mac:
~/.claude/projectsfor Claude Code and the Claude app's Code tab, and~/.codex/sessionsfor Codex. Unwrap reads replies from the last 7 days (you can change this) to match your copies to the original markdown. You can turn this off in Settings.
What Unwrap keeps
- Recent fixes, in memory only. They are shown in the menu and the Recent fixes window, and are gone when you quit Unwrap.
- Counts, never content: how many copies were fixed and lines joined, for the weekly numbers in the menu.
- Your settings, in the app's preferences file.
What Unwrap sends
Nothing about you or your copies. The only network request is a daily check for a signed update, to unwrap.mayankbuilds.com/appcast.xml. Unwrap works the same if you block it; you just won't get updates.
This website
The site counts page views and downloads without cookies, IP addresses or user IDs: just the page, the referring site, the country and whether it's a phone or a computer. It may also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which works the same way.
